Caisa-Marie Lindfors left the National Arena in tears. The final miss took hard on the discus thrower. It could have gone better, she says after the World Championship qualification in Tokyo.

After having gathered herself for a while, Caisa-Marie Lindfors could give her picture of the 58.06 meters and the missed final spot in the World Championship in Japan.

Today it did not hold. I have had some injury problems, it was tough with the coach in the USA, that he is not on site...

It will have to be a different setup next year.

What will you do differently?

It will be more "facetime" and "real life" training with my coach over there. I am moving to Texas and will start working there, she says.

The 25-year-old, who has been struggling with back problems, had hopes of advancing from the qualifying round, but instead the visit to Tokyo ended in disappointment and tears.

Sometimes it gets so brutal in sports, she says.

It went better for the Olympic fifth-place finisher Vanessa Kamga. With 63.50 meters, she secured a spot in the final, which will be decided on Sunday.

So fun, I love to compete and it was really fun to get to do this. It was how many people in the stands who just wanted to be at a qualifying round.
