The 30th of March 2024 was the last time Victor Nilsson Lindelöf started a league match for his Manchester United. But on Sunday, it was time again. The Swede got to play the entire match when Manchester United took home a 1–1 draw against top team Arsenal.
Towards the end of the first half, Bruno Fernandes curled in 1–0 on a free kick. And for a long time, it looked like it could be an important three-pointer for the home team, which has had a tough season and after Sunday's match lies in 14th place in the Premier League.
United had several giant chances to extend their lead, but instead, the equalizer came with a quarter of an hour left, when Declan Rice elegantly placed in 1–1, which stood until the end of the match.
Nilsson Lindelöf got to play the entire match and delivered a stable performance.
The draw means that Arsenal drops even more points to leader Liverpool. The margin is now a full 15 points. At the same time, it's only four points down to Nottingham in third place, and six down to fourth-place Chelsea.
The top four teams qualify for Champions League play next season.
