The midfielder has previously said that he cannot see himself playing in another World Cup (2030) - if Sweden makes it there.

So the question was - was the loss to France the last we saw of Victor Nilsson Lindelöf in the national team jersey?

"I feel like this team has more to give. Right now I feel like I have it too," Lindelöf said after the 3-0 loss in the round of 16.

- I still think we defended well in the second half. It's individual actions that make them score goals. You just have to congratulate the French.

Lindelöf, who plays for Premier League club Aston Villa, sees a bright future for Sweden.

I absolutely do. I'm proud of the guys and how we've taken on this tournament. We were at the bottom not too long ago. I have a lot of faith in this squad.

Sweden will gather again in September, when they will play in the Nations League. Next year, qualifying for Euro 2028 will begin.
