Despite the disappointment after the 3-0 loss in the round of 32 against France, Victor Nilsson Lindelöf has enough peace of mind to already state:
"I'm always happy and proud to be here (in the national team) and I think we have more to gain from the team. So right now I feel like I also have more to give," says Nilsson Lindelöf.

I absolutely do. I'm proud of the guys and the way we've approached this tournament. We've come a long way. We were way down at the bottom not too long ago. So I have a lot of faith in this group, it's a good mix of all ages. If we just keep developing and keeping this group together, I definitely see a bright future.

"He is a captain both on and off the field. With his confidence and all the experience he has, he helps us," says defender Gabriel Gudmundsson.
Another defender, Gustaf Lagerbielke, agrees:
"He is our captain and has shown in all the matches here that he maintains a very high level. That means a lot," says Lagerbielke.
