National team captain Victor Nilsson Lindelöf did not play against Switzerland on Saturday due to a concussion, but looks set to be a starter against Slovenia tomorrow as national team captain Graham Potter brought him to the press conference at Strawberry Arena as team captain.
"My body feels good and I feel ready to play," says Lindelöf.
In the last home match, at Ullevi in Gothenburg, the Swedish fans booed the national team after the 0-1 loss to Kosovo. Lindelöf responded with an ironic thumbs up and also told Viaplay that he was critical of the crowd's boos.
Now he says it probably wasn't his best statement.
I had a lot of emotions and was irritated and angry about a lot of things. I said it in the moment. If they (the fans) got angry, I apologize.
The fans and we players have high demands. They also want to go to the World Cup and see us play in a big championship. That means they care about us and that's something positive.
