The Damallsvenskan profile Linda Sällström, 37, is retiring after the season.

The Vittsjö attacker gave the message in connection with Finland's national team gathering – and at the same time criticized Finland's government for its stance in the Israel/Gaza issue.

This is going to be a gloomy period for humanity and in my opinion, Finland is on the wrong side of history. Finland stands by and watches as thousands of civilians and children die. I cannot stand here and not say what I think when I have been given the word, said the Finnish attacking star, according to Swedish Yle, at a press conference and added:

I want to be remembered as a sharp goal scorer who also stood up for human rights.

Linda Sällström has played most of her career in Damallsvenskan and represented Djurgården (2008–09), Linköping (10–14) and Vittsjö (15–18 and 22–25).

Sällström holds the record for the number of national team matches (155) and goals (64) for Finland.
