The Stockholm Stock Exchange ended 2025 on a six-day winning streak, but after some shaky trading on the first trading day of the new year, the broad OMXS index closed down 0.4 percent.

Among Friday's winners was defense group Saab, which rose 4.1 percent. Skanska was the second-best performer on the OMXS30 heavyweight list, up 2.2 percent after the construction company signed a billion-dollar order for a data center in the United States.

Mining company Boliden, which has performed strongly in recent months thanks to rising copper prices, rose 1.1 percent.

The worst performers on the OMXS30 were industrial conglomerate Lifco and technology trading company Addtech, which fell 3.2 and 2.8 percent respectively.

Among the smaller companies, a sharp rise was noted for Munters, which announced on New Year's Eve that it had received a multi-billion-kronor order for products for cooling data centers. The stock rose 12.5 percent.

On the foreign exchange market, the krona strengthened slightly against both the dollar and the euro. At the close of trading, one dollar traded at 9.20 kronor and one euro at 10.81 kronor.

On the leading European stock exchanges, index movements were small. The DAX index in Frankfurt was flat, while the FTSE index in London and the CAC 40 in Paris rose a few tenths of a percent.
