Lift for retail in the US as sales rise 0.6 percent

US retail sales rose 0.6 percent from the previous month, slightly more than the market's expectation of 0.5 percent, according to a Bloomberg report.

However, most of the sales occurred before the outbreak of the war involving Iran at the end of February. The increase was mainly in car sales, compared with weak sales in January.
