In August last year, a man in his 25s was shot to death with an automatic carbine in the Rosengård district of Malmö. Now the court of appeal confirms the life sentence for the shooter, who was 18 years old at the time of the fatal shooting.

The man, who denies the crime, is believed to have acted on behalf of another person. He has admitted that he was at the scene, but claimed that the shots were fired by another person who was also there – an explanation that the court of appeal does not believe.

One of the shots went straight through a window in a nearby apartment. A person in the apartment was close to being hit, but did not suffer physical harm. The now 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder of that person, but the court of appeal instead convicts him of endangering the safety of others and thus makes the same assessment as the district court.
