In January last year, a 65-year-old man was shot six times in the upper body and killed in a shop he ran in Husby in northern Stockholm.
Police were nearby, and when they gave chase, the perpetrator and officers exchanged gunfire.
In November, the perpetrator was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and attempted murder, and now the Svea Court of Appeal is upholding the sentence.
The man who was shot dead was a relative of a leading figure in the criminal underworld, but investigators have not been able to establish a motive.
