It was on November 17 last year that a 35-year-old gang leader was shot to death in his apartment on Skallberget in Västerås.
The shooter, a 14-year-old, is said to have entered the stairwell with a weapon in his hand and fired the shots. Due to his young age, he could not be prosecuted, but instead, a so-called witness statement was filed against him.
Three of the accused men are convicted of murder. Two of them receive life imprisonment and one receives imprisonment for 16 years. The fourth person, a 17-year-old, is convicted of aiding and abetting murder to closed youth care for two years and four months. Two of the accused are also convicted of involving a minor in criminal activity, writes SVT.
The convicted will also have to pay damages to the relatives of the deceased.
"The court was unanimous in all parts," says Chief Councilor Linn Pantzar in a press release.
