Chasing Horse was convicted on Monday, despite his denials, of sexually assaulting Native American women and girls.
According to the verdict, he used his position as a spiritual leader to exploit women and girls in what is described as “a network of abuse” over 20 years.
Nathan Chasing Horse played Smiles-a-Lot, a member of the Sioux, in Kevin Costner's seven-time Oscar-winning film "Dances with Wolves" in 1990.
