These are old textbooks. At first, librarian Eli Lenngren thought someone had handed in their own volumes by mistake, but then saw that they were marked “Stifts- och landsbiblioteket i Västerås”.
Why the books were submitted at this time is unclear to Lenngren.
I have absolutely no idea, but you can speculate that someone found them in the attic of an old relative and wants to do right by them, or that they found them at a flea market.
