Liam Rosenior has been appointed Chelsea's new head coach, he said at a press conference. He said it was an incredible opportunity at a fantastic club.

British Liam Rosenior is joining from French side Strasbourg. The 41-year-old, who has played for several Premier League clubs, is leaving Strasbourg after 18 months. Shortly after Rosenior's press conference, Chelsea confirmed they had signed him to a contract that runs until 2032. He will be given the role of head coach, not manager.

"It's been the best 18 months of my professional career. But now I get to go home and see my children. It's been a sacrifice to be away from them," Rosenior said.

On New Year's Day, Chelsea announced that Enzo Maresca would leave the club with immediate effect. Chelsea are fifth in the Premier League, 17 points behind league leaders Arsenal.
