Lægreid wins seventh consecutive Biathlon World Cup competition

Lægreid won five medals at the Olympics. Since the Games, he has been unstoppable. The 29-year-old has won the last seven World Cup events he has competed in. He has been on the podium in his last 13 events.

On Saturday, Lægreid was pushing hard, as was Eric Perrot, and the chase was decided on the run. At the finish, the Norwegian was a few centimeters ahead of the Frenchman.

Emilien Jacquelin of France was third.

Martin Ponsiluoma started the chase in fourth place and finished fourth after three crashes. Sebastian Samuelsson started in seventh place but dropped to twelfth after four crashes.

Samuelsson also dropped from second to third in the overall World Cup.

Jesper Nelin was 41st and Viktor Brandt 43rd, both missing three shots.
