The "unusually high and risky speed" according to the verdict was measured this summer on a road outside Bergen where the speed limit is 80 kilometers per hour, reports NRK .
The woman claimed in court that she had not seen how fast her son was driving and that she had told him to slow down when she noticed what the speedometer was showing. The court did not believe her and sentenced her for failing to exercise caution in traffic.
In addition to the prison sentence, she will lose her driver's license and must take a test herself to get a new driver's license, which will take no sooner than 13 months.
The son was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence in September. He will now not be allowed to get a driver's license until 2027 at the earliest.
