The accident occurred after a male leopard stuck its paw through a fence into an adjacent enclosure. In the enclosure, the leopard's son was holding onto his father's front leg and refused to let go.
The injuries were so severe that the zoo chose to euthanize the leopard. Nordens Ark will now review the incident and see whether procedures were broken, the zoo writes in a press release.
