Björn Borg's autobiography "Hjärtslag", which he has written together with his wife Patricia, will be released on September 18. Already last week, the Swedish tennis legend revealed that he had undergone surgery for prostate cancer.
The cancer was discovered in September 2023 and about half a year later he was operated on.
It's of course very sad and when something this serious happens, you become very confused, says son Leo Borg ahead of Sweden's Davis Cup match this weekend.
But under the circumstances, he's doing well now and the cancer is gone for now. So it's very nice.
In addition to the cancer news, the book is also expected to contain a lot of tennis treats - and the story of why Björn Borg stopped playing tennis at the age of 26.
"Fine book"
Leo Borg encourages everyone to buy the book, but admits that he himself has not had time to read it all yet.
I'm on my way! I'm not allowed to reveal anything, but it's a very interesting book. A very fine book, with both ups and downs, says the 22-year-old.
Next, however, is the Davis Cup match against Tunisia on Friday and Saturday.
After Elias Ymer's withdrawal and Mikael Ymer's injury, Leo Borg is suddenly the anchor in the Swedish team, despite being currently ranked 589th in the world.
It's of course very sad that they're not with us. They have a very high level, says Leo Borg about the Ymer brothers' absence.
But then we have to step up and I feel that we're all absolutely ready for it. And I've played a few Davis Cup matches and become a bit more routine.
Top 10 goal
Playing tennis with the surname Borg has not always been easy, he admits.
But I probably felt more that there was pressure on me when I was little. Now I've probably become better at adapting and my feelings. Of course, my dad has made his journey and of course people will always have expectations of me. But it's my own journey.
That doesn't mean, however, that his own goals have become lower.
No, my highest goal is still to reach the top 10 in the world, he says.
I may have been a bit disappointed with myself, that it hasn't gone faster. But I still feel that I have a very big game inside me and that I'm on the right track.
