The stage was set for an ice hockey party when the supposed top teams Leksand and Södertälje were due to kick off the Swedish Hockey League season at Tegera Arena.

But after just 30 seconds, the match was interrupted when someone lit pyrotechnics in Södertälje's away section, causing the fire alarm to go off, the arena to be emptied and the players to leave the ice.

"We have received a flare in the away section which caused the fire alarm to be triggered. Now we will go through the away section to make sure they haven't hidden anything so that we can possibly let the away fans in again," says Leksand IF's security manager Robert Kock to TV4.

It took over 40 minutes before security staff deemed it safe to resume play.
