The 32 percent increase in profit is being driven by a rise in sales to 41.9 billion Danish kroner, up from 34.6 billion a year earlier.
According to CEO Niels Christiansen, the increase has been stronger than expected in all business areas, and the forecast is double-digit sales growth for the whole of 2026. Geographically, sales are rising in the US, Asia and Europe. But China is an exception, as there is hesitation among consumers, according to Christiansen.
During the first half of the year, Lego - owned by the Kristiansen family and the Lego Foundation - launched 332 new building sets.
"The machine is running quite well and we have a pretty good idea of how it works," says Christiansen in the report.
