Bhosle is known for singing on soundtracks of countless Bollywood films during her seven-decade career.
One of her most famous songs is "Dum maro dum" from 1973. She also collaborated with other global artists - as recently as March this year, for example, she guest-starred with the British virtual band Gorillaz on the song "The Shadowy Light".
In 1997, the group Cornershop had a big hit with the song "Brimful of Asha," which was a tribute to Asha Bhosle.
