That (their own election victory last year) was just the beginning!
A happy Zohran Mamdani celebrated Wednesday night that all three candidates he supported won their primaries – two of them against incumbent Democratic congressmen who were running for re-election.
This means that democratic socialists Darializa Avila Chevalier and Claire Valdez, as well as progressive Brad Lander, have a good chance of winning seats in the House of Representatives this fall.
The results are worrying more centrist Democrats in the House, who fear they will have difficulty working together. An anonymous member in that faction called the primary election results "an earthquake" and "a huge defeat" for the party leadership, according to Axios.
