"We will have a discussion internally to ensure that it is not repeated," continues Jonas Lindberg, who is a regional councillor for V in Stockholm and sits on the party's executive committee.

In the short video, participants in the V section of the train can be heard shouting "All of Malmö hates police". But the slogans should not be interpreted literally, according to Left Party Malmö chairwoman Tove Karnerud.

"You shouldn't interpret it that way," she tells Sydsvenskan, instead describing what is being shouted as a protest against racism and homophobia within the authority.

Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (M) reacted strongly to the incident.

"It's actually completely scandalous," he writes on Instagram.

"To begin with, the context is quite poorly chosen for such messages. Pride stands for the exact opposite of hate - and police are there to guarantee the freedom and safety of everyone who participates," he writes.

About the message itself directed at police officers, he writes.

"They don't deserve hate. But respect, appreciation and all of our care."
