This is the election promise made by party leader Nooshi Dadgostar (V) at a press conference in front of the Tensta health center in northwestern Stockholm.
V wants to repeal the Freedom of Choice Act (LOV), which gives healthcare companies the right to establish themselves wherever they want, and move to a needs-based system where the region identifies the places with the greatest need for care.
Repealing the LOV would lead to more health centers being established in socio-economically disadvantaged areas, according to V.
We will get more general practitioners in places like Tensta, in the suburbs of our big cities and in rural areas, says Dadgostar.
The party also wants to appoint a "deprivatization commission" for all welfare immediately after the election.
V also proposes a new procurement law for tax-financed welfare, meaning that only non-profit actors will be able to take part in procurements. It will also be a requirement that staff are covered by collective agreements.
