LeBron James saved the USA from a disastrous result in Saturday's training match against South Sudan in London ahead of the Summer Olympics in Paris.
The star-studded American men's national basketball team won by a single point, 101–100, after being down 44–58 at halftime.
The 39-year-old James scored 25 points in the match, including the final two that gave the USA the lead with eight seconds remaining.
We need to keep taking steps forward, says LeBron James, who has won Olympic gold with the USA twice and the North American basketball league NBA four times.
The USA is ranked first in the world, South Sudan 33rd, according to the International Basketball Federation's world ranking.
South Sudan made its World Championship debut last year, was eliminated in the group stage, and is making its Olympic debut this year. In Paris, the USA and South Sudan will meet again in the group stage, in Lille on July 31.
