According to the president, the negotiations taking place between the countries are not a betrayal, and he says he will not give up "a single inch" of Lebanon's territory.
On Wednesday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed that the Israeli military (IDF) will not leave Lebanon.
"The IDF will remain in the security zones in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza indefinitely to protect our residents and communities from jihadist elements," Katz said.
On June 27, Israel and Lebanon entered into a first framework agreement that will eventually pave the way for peace and Israel's partial withdrawal of forces.
