Israeli attacks on targets in Lebanon were reported on Wednesday, resulting in at least three deaths according to Lebanese media.
However, the current ceasefire still officially holds, even though Iran-backed Hezbollah has not formally entered the talks.
Lebanon will request a one-month extension of the ceasefire, an end to Israeli bombing and destruction in areas where it is present, and a commitment to the ceasefire, a Lebanese official said ahead of the meeting.
Lebanese President Michel Aoun said contacts are underway to extend the ten-day ceasefire that began last week and expires on Sunday.
