Leaves Öster – becomes football manager at IFK Göteborg

It has been stormy in the Allsvenskan football club IFK Göteborg at the beginning of 2025, where employees are said to have been subjected to threats. Now the big club has made it clear with a new football manager. Blåvitt recruits Jesper Jansson from the Allsvenskan competitor Öster.

"I'm coming to a Blåvitt that feels very exciting and has a clear path forward. I want to be a part of that", Jansson says to the club's website.

Jansson has signed a three-year contract and will join in early April. In Öster, he is a sports advisor and previously, Jansson has been sports manager in Hammarby, among other things. As a player, he has been noted in clubs such as Helsingborg, AIK, Djurgården, and Öster.

The role of football manager is newly established in IFK Göteborg. Jansson will have the overall responsibility for the club's football organization – women's and men's teams as well as the academy.

Over the weekend, IFK Göteborg announced on its website that the association is "under attack".

"Direct and indirect threats and harassment have been directed against individuals in their work for IFK Göteborg, to hinder them in their professional activities", the club wrote.

The threats have been reported to the police. On Thursday evening, IFK Göteborg held its annual meeting and everything went smoothly.
