Two leaders of a human smuggling gang have been sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Texas in the USA for having caused the death of 53 migrants.
It was in June 2022 that 64 migrants were found in an abandoned and overheated truck on a side street on the outskirts of the city of San Antonio. 48 of them were dead and another five died later in hospital.
The migrants came mainly from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. Among the dead were six children and a pregnant woman.
