The meeting is taking place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to speak later in the day.
Zelenskyy met with President Donald Trump on Tuesday and said he hopes the United States can bring Russia to the negotiating table.
