Stevie Wonder's performance was included in the program, but Lauryn Hill's was a surprise during the memorial ceremony for singer and pianist Roberta Flack at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, New York.
The music-packed ceremony was streamed on Youtube. The audience got to hear Lauryn Hill sing Roberta Flack's big hits "The first time ever I saw your face" and then "Killing me softly with his song", the latter together with Fugees colleague Wyclef Jean, reports The Guardian.
The latter song contributed to Lauryn Hill's and Fugees' big breakthrough in the 1990s. This time, they had Stevie Wonder on harmonica.
Roberta Flack passed away on February 24.
