Uusimaa is located on the northern coast of the Gulf of Finland, and includes Helsinki. People in the area were advised to stay indoors. However, shortly after 06:00 local time in Sweden, the rescue services stated that the danger was over.
The flight ban issued over Uusimaa, including to and from Helsinki-Vantaa, has been lifted, according to airport operator Finavia.
Earlier in the night, a potential violation of Latvian airspace was reported. In a post on X, the Ministry of Defense wrote that the country's air defense and NATO aircraft are patrolling the airspace:
"As long as Russia's aggression against Ukraine continues, it is possible that similar incidents will occur."
Residents, especially in the eastern parts of Latvia, are urged to stay indoors and report suspicious drones.
