Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga side, beat English side Manchester United 2–1 on the night and 5–3 on aggregate across the two legs.

But it was United who started the better and scored 1–0 in the 11th minute (Melvine Malard). This made the aggregate score 3–3 and the match in Munich went to extra time. In the 81st minute Glódis Viggósdottir headed in to make it 2–2 from a corner, and three minutes later Linda Dallmann scored 3–2, also from a corner.

United featured Swedish internationals Hanna Lundkvist, Julia Zigiotti Olme and Fridolina Rolfö. Lundkvist was substituted at the end. Bayern's Swedish centre-back Magdalena Eriksson was on the bench.

Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid or Barcelona in the semi-finals.
