Rosengård's crisis looked set to worsen further. But Filippa Sjöström stayed sharp well into extra time and scored the winning goal, 1-0, in front of the home crowd.

In terms of points, it was the response the former top club had hoped for after firing head coach Joel Kjetselberg earlier this week and replacing him with Spaniard Fran Alonso.

"It was an absolutely fantastic feeling. We need three points and we get them," says match winner Filippa Sjöström to Viaplay.

The performance was not impressive. Uppsala came to Malmö with six straight losses and a 1-34 goal difference, but Rosengård were unbeaten for large parts of the match. This time it was enough.

The Malmö side thus moves past Växjö, who meet Hammarby on Sunday, into safe ground.
