Sixth-ranked Jessica Pegula sent her compatriot Madison Keys out of the tournament on Monday night, by 2–0 in sets.
Keys, ranked ninth in the world, never came close in the match, which Pegula won 6–3, 6–4.
"I've been playing really well, been able to see the ball and hit it really well throughout the tournament, and I wanted to continue in the same way," Pegula said after the match.
When they're not competing against each other, Keys and Pegula usually appear on a podcast together.
"This will be the first match in Grand Slam history between two podcast hosts," Keys told the AP earlier this week.
In the quarterfinals, Jessica Pegula will face the winner of the match between Xinyu Wang and Amanda Anisimova.
