Last Postal Flight Lands on Gotland Ending Century-Old Tradition

Today, the last postal flight has landed on Gotland and thus a hundred-year-old tradition comes to an end, reports P4 Gotland.

Decreased letter and postal volumes, especially over the last ten years, means that it is no longer profitable to fly the mail to the island.

Instead, the mail will be transported across the Baltic Sea by boat and the delivery time will thus be extended by one working day.
