British prime ministers have come and gone, but at 10 Downing Street in London, there has been one constant for 15 years: Larry the cat.

Larry was recruited into the corridors of power on February 15, 2011, due to a rodent problem in the building. He came from an animal shelter in London when he was about four years old, during David Cameron's time as Prime Minister.

Since then, Larry has weathered five more prime ministers and a host of political storms, and today lives with Prime Minister Keir Starmer's family cats, JoJo and Prince.

Larry is often seen on the country's most photographed doorstep.

“Larry spends his days welcoming guests to the house, inspecting security, and testing antique furniture to ensure a good night’s sleep,” his official biography states.
