Over 1,100 high-rise buildings in Kyiv were already without heat after previous attacks. Now another 2,600 of the city's large apartment buildings have been left without heating, writes Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram.

Work to restore heating is ongoing.

The large-scale Russian attack on Thursday night was specifically aimed at energy infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipro and Odesa, according to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

“Hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles targeted energy systems, depriving people of power, heat, and water,” he writes on X.

Civilians were injured, including a four-year-old and an even younger child, he said.

"No one can turn a blind eye to Russian terror. It's happening right now in the middle of Europe," writes Sybiha.

Vitali Klitschko urged Kyiv residents to stay in shelters on Telegram overnight. There are no reports of casualties.

Russia claims that a Ukrainian drone attack was directed at the Volgograd region, resulting in a fire at a military facility.

A nearby village has been evacuated, governor Andrei Botcharov said on Telegram.
