A larger fire broke out in the morning at a chicken farm in Hammenhög outside Simrishamn. According to the rescue service, there are approximately 10,000 animals in the building.
The fire is extinguished and the animals have made it, says Gustaf Sandell, officer on duty at the Rescue Service South.
Personnel from the rescue service in Simrishamn, Ystad, Tomelilla, and Borrby, as well as some local rescue teams, have participated in the extinguishing work.
It has burned in a boiler room and in connection with the chimney, says Gustaf Sandell.
