The fire broke out at noon on Friday on Frederikssundsvej in northwest Copenhagen.
"There are no reports of injuries, but residents in several stairwells are being evacuated," wrote Copenhagen Police on the communications service Politi Update.
By 2 p.m., the fire was under control, but the firefighting effort is expected to last several hours.
