According to police, several people were allegedly attacked by a person who sprayed some form of pepper spray. A man has been arrested on suspicion of the attack. Several people were taken to hospital but their injuries are not considered life-threatening or serious.
"At this stage we believe the incident involved a group of people who were familiar with each other, where an argument escalated and resulted in a number of people being injured," said Commander Peter Stevens in a press release.
The incident resulted in a major police operation and during the morning train traffic to the airport was temporarily suspended. Traffic is now back on but may be affected in the next few hours.
