The fire department was alerted to the fire on Sunday morning.
The fire is not yet 100 percent under control, but it is moving in the right direction, Jonas Eriksson, alarm and management officer at the rescue service, told Gefle Dagblad late this afternoon.
The fire service initially stated that just over 25 hectares were burning, but later changed that figure to ten hectares.
Resources from several stations are working to fight the fire. Two helicopters are also participating in the operation.
No buildings should be threatened by the fire.
SMHI warns that there is a risk of forest and ground fires in parts of Gävleborg County, among other places, on Sunday.
