"The shortcomings have meant that the group's results for 2021 have been reported too high, that the group's statement of financial position at the end of the year was incorrect and that certain information was missing," FI says in a statement.
In addition to the sanction fee, FI has issued a warning to SBB over what it describes as accounting fraud in the multi-billion class.
"The shortcomings have meant, among other things, that the group's profit before tax for 2021 was reported by SEK 3.6 billion too high and that the group's statement of financial position at the end of the year was incorrect," FI says in a statement.
SBB says in a press release it is evaluating the decision and whether to appeal.
