Farmer-owned Lantmännen announces a savings program of half a billion kronor.

The company's revenues rose during the first quarter (January-April) to 22.7 billion kronor, but the profit fell. The operating result landed at 566 million kronor, compared to 848 million during the same period last year.

Uncertainty in the surrounding world has dampened the demand for Lantmännen's products, according to the company.

"A savings program of half a billion has been initiated to adapt the operations to new market conditions and ensure long-term competitiveness and profitability", writes Lantmännen in a press release.

Lantmännen includes, among other things, the brands Scan, Axa, and Kungsörnen.
