"I'm happy to be back, to be number one again," Norris says on the victory podium.
McLaren had made updates to the car ahead of this weekend's race in Hungary, and they paid off. Norris took pole position on Saturday, but lost the lead to teammate Oscar Piastri at the start of Sunday's race.
However, Norris managed to push through early and then controlled the race.
"The car was great to drive, I think we can win more races this year," Norris says.
Piastri was forced to retire. Max Verstappen, in the Red Bull, finished second ahead of Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes. Antonelli tops the standings with 219 points, 50 ahead of Lewis Hamilton, in the Ferrari. Norris is in fifth place.
