Fredrik Landén is leaving the Swedish men's team Brommapojkarna after just one season. Instead, he will become an assistant coach at the championship club Mjällby. "It feels fantastic," he tells the club's website.

In Brommapojkarna, Landén shared the job as head coach with Ulf Kristiansson in 2025. They succeeded the duo Olof Mellberg and Andreas Engelmark.

Landén, 31, joined the club last winter after a few years in IFK Norrköping's organization, where he worked under both Glen Riddersholm and Andreas Alm.

Now the journey is south again – still down to Hällevik and the Swedish champion club Mjällby. There he will become an assistant to new coach Karl Marius Aksum.

"I look forward to being a part of building on the successes the club has had in recent years. From the first contact, the club has given an extremely professional and serious impression. Mjällby is a prosperous club that constantly strives to develop and become better. Now I look forward to meeting the players and getting started in 2026," he says.

Mjällby's sports director Hasse Larsson comments on the recruitment:

"Fredrik is a young and very competent coach who will contribute significantly to our continued development. We see him as an important piece of the puzzle in the coaching team we are now forming. We are both happy and proud that he has chosen Mjällby AIF."
