Gabriel Landeskog will not be coming to the home World Championship in ice hockey, according to Nathan MacKinnon, a teammate in the NHL team Colorado.

I tried to get him to come here, but he's not coming. He probably needs to rest, says the Canadian forward star at a press conference in Stockholm, according to Expressen.

In April, the 32-year-old Landeskog made a comeback after nearly three years of injury absence. He scored one goal and three assists in five matches when Colorado was knocked out by Dallas in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Since then, there has been speculation about Colorado's team captain wanting to play in the home World Championship with Tre Kronor, since the Swedish squad is not yet full.
