Young center Leo Carlsson missed the Olympics in Milan in February due to an injury, but has recorded points (two goals, three assists) in three straight games since the NHL season resumed.
When top team Colorado visited, however, the 21-year-old left the ice scoreless. Instead, Gabriel Landeskog - the 33-year-old who was the team captain for Tre Kronor in the Olympics - shone in the blue and yellow. The forward extended the lead to 4-1 in the third period with his ninth goal of the season.
After the 5-1 victory, Colorado has 91 points, the best of any team in the NHL. Anaheim has 69 points.
