The confidential document that the former national security adviser Henrik Landerholm forgot at a conference center concerns Sweden's security, writes Expressen.

The new information concerns the documents with classified information that were left behind in a cabinet at a conference center in the spring of 2023.

The Government Offices have previously submitted a heavily redacted version of the damage assessment that was made. Expressen has requested that the confidentiality of the damage assessment be lifted and the document be made public, but has been denied.

The Government is not releasing the information, partly because an investigation is ongoing, and also because it concerns national security.

"The document also contains information related to total defense. Since it can be assumed that the disclosure of the information would harm the country's defense or otherwise pose a threat to national security, the information is covered by confidentiality," the Government writes in its decision.

Landerholm was embroiled in controversy in December last year when DN revealed that he had been negligent with security on three occasions.

In addition to the incident at the conference center, it also concerns a forgotten notebook at Sveriges Radio in January 2023 and a forgotten mobile phone at the Hungarian embassy in December 2022. In December, he also lost his access card and his service card.

Landerholm, who is a childhood friend of Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (The Moderate Party), was handpicked for the position of security advisor. He left his post at the end of January after an investigation into the crime of gross negligence with confidential information was initiated.
