The trial in the court of appeal against the former national security adviser Henrik Landerholm will be delayed. It will most likely be held after the parliamentary election next year.

We handle this like all other cases. Our processing times are around 1.5 years. This means that the main hearing should take place late 2026 or early 2027, says Marcus Karlberg, court of appeal judge in Svea court of appeal, to Dagens Nyheter.

Landerholm was acquitted in Attunda district court of the charge of negligence with secret information. The district court did not consider that he had been grossly negligent when he left secret documents in an unlocked safe at a conference center outside Stockholm.

The prosecutors appealed the verdict.

"Unlike the district court, we believe that the man's actions have been grossly negligent and that he should therefore be convicted of gross negligence with secret information”, the prosecutors wrote in their appeal.
