Together with Pete Parkkonen, Lampenius was tipped as the favorite in the Finnish equivalent of Melodifestivalen - UMK, in Swedish the Competition for New Music. And the duo lived up to expectations, Yle reports. The entry “Liekinheitin” received a total of 570 points and won in crushing style on Saturday evening. This means they will represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna in May.

56-year-old Linda Lampenius was born in Sweden.

And speaking of Finland-Swedish artists. It is widely reported that KAJ, who last year won the Swedish Melodifestivalen and finished fourth in the Eurovision Song Contest, performed a rewritten version of "Bara Bada Bastu," the song that was successful last year.
